ALL TIME FAVE: HEDI SLIMANE DIARY

I've been keeping up with Hedi Slimane's diary every since I discovered it in early 2009. Known mostly for his work as a fashion designer, Hedi also has an impressive resume of other activities, including music, furniture design, album cover design (hey Phoenix & Daft Punk), and the aforementioned photography diary. Mostly black and white photos, Hedi's photography embraces the worlds of fashion, music, celebrity, youth and counterculture. That said, you might catch a few familiar faces amidst the photos--some of my personal favorites are his shots of Courtney Love, Pete Doherty, Allison Mosshart and let us not forget the amazing cover of Lady Gaga's FAME MONSTER...Here's a small taste of what Hedi has in store for you HERE. 

Dreaming in Reverse

Dreaming in Reverse is an innovative exhibition on display at the Wall Space Gallery in Seattle Washington. Seattle is a great city filled with many cultural hot spots and a thriving arts community. If you are ever in the Seattle area make sure to stop by the numerous galleries dedicated to photography. The photographs below are by artist Tom Chambers. Bruce Mozertom- Pioneer of Underwater Photography

Besides highlighting up and coming photographers, it is always important to point out leaders in the field who influenced and changed photography for the better. These particular underwater photography scenes were taken in 1938. Not only are they incredible in terms of the period they were taken in, but it also speaks to the social constructs of this time. Bruce Mozertom is one of the pioneers of underwater photography! Amazing, enjoy!
